Department of Pediatrics
This department offers treatment for pediatric diseases ranging from primary care to emergency treatment. It particularly offers specialized treatment for endocrine diseases(including short stature and abnormalities in sexual development), and kidney disease (abnormal school urinalysis results, urinary tract infection, hydronephrosis, nephrotic syndrome etc.). A pediatrician is on call 24h a day; thus, services such as nighttime hospitalization are also available if prior notice is given.
Department of Dermatology
This department treats all dermatological diseases including surgeries for moles or skin cancer; general diseases such as tinea, rash, and acne; and conditions such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis that require long-term treatment. Doctors in this department are particularly experienced with regard to laser treatment for intractable acne, bruising, hemangioma, and chloasma. Department of Orthopaedics
Department of Orthopaedics offers several surgical treatment options for the musculoskeletal disorders of the spine, hip and knee joints, hand and trauma. We will regularly perform total hip and knee arthroplasties and, in particular, use the minimally invasive direct anterior approach for total hip arthroplasty (MIS DAA-THA) to decrease the risk of hip dislocation. Also we regularly perform spinal surgery of the laminoplasty for cervical myelopathy, lumbar herniated disk surgery, and decompression and fiation of lumbar spinal canal stenosis.
Department of Plastic Surgery
The expert team of plastic surgeon at NMH Hospital is dedicated to improving patients’ QOL through plastic and reconstructive surgeries. Our surgeons are specialists in addressing a wide range of problems related to trauma, cancer, or congenital anomalies, and provide treatment for diseases such as varicose veins, diabetic foot gangrene and pressure ulcers. Reconstructive surgery specializations include breast reconstruction, eyelid surgeries, cleft lip and palate repair, and major flp procedures.
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
For benign tumors such as ovarian cysts and uterine myoma, we perform laparoscopic surgery or hysteroscopic surgery whenever possible. Malignant tumors such as ovarian cancers, uterine cancers, etc. are treated based on medical society guidelines, while considering the feeling of the patient. , while we continue to consider natural childbirth to be the fist option, we also provide support for abnormal conditions with a 24-hour-a-day system in cooperation with the Pediatrics and Anesthesiology Departments.
Department of Urology
Multidisciplinary treatment of genitourinary cancer consisted mainly of surgery is most popular in our department. We are familiar to laparoscopic surgery as a minimum invasive modality against curable kidney cancer and adrenal tumor as well. We are experienced in performing urinary tract reconstruction which enables self-urination even after total cystectomy. Surgical treatment against prostate hypertrophy is usually done using Holmium Laser (HoLEP). Flexible transurethral lithotripsy (fTUL) and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) are performed to treat various types of urinary tract stones.
Department of Ophthalmology
We treat age-related eye diseases such as cataract, glaucoma, and diseases of the fundus, e.g. age-related macular degeneration, epiretinal membrane, macular hole, retinal detachment, and retinal vein occlusion. Severe myopia is also actively treated with phakic intraocular lens transplantation for refractive errors as well as with vitreoretinal surgery and anti-VEGF injections for retinal lesions.
Department of Anesthesiology
This department performs pain clinic for regional pain and systemic pain, i.e. caused by blood circulation disorders. Nerve block therapy is actively incorporated to relief pain caused by conditions such as herpes zoster, trigeminal neuralgia, cervical spondylosis, headaches, slipped disk, spinal canal stenosis, and facial paralysis.
Department of Dentistry
In this department, specialist staff manage common dental diseases such as dental caries, marginal periodontitis (alveolar pyorrhea), and tooth loss in addition to esthetic restorative treatment (dental treatment to make teeth appear more natural) and dental implants. Further, oral surgeries are also performed for extracting impacted teeth (wisdom teeth), intraoral care for hospitalized patients, and the treatment with oral appliance for sleep apnea syndrome patients.

Department of Diagnostic Radiology The diagnostic imaging performed at Toranomon Hospital is interpreted by certifid diagnostic radiologists in case of the physician’s request. Results are reported to the physician concerned.
